HRW thinks a lot about brand experience. And a big part of that experience goes beyond just print, digital and broadcast. That’s why it’s natural that we also pride ourselves in spaces, interiors and environmental design. It’s a way to take our clients’ brand to another dimension, literally 3D! — a full experience that you can walk through. And it goes hand-in-hand with making sure everything our clients say about themselves is in-sync with their physical space and the impression it gives. We helped the Riviera Club overhaul their dark, outdated upstairs lounge to something that is much more reflective of the fun, energetic, welcoming place that Rivi is everywhere else. With some creative solutions and a lot of repurposing of historic memorabilia, we gave the lounge a fresh new vibe that still celebrates Rivi’s history. We think it looks like a great place to hangout.. and the Rivi members agree.

Problem: The Riviera Club’s upstairs lounge was dark, outdated and generally uninviting. The space was not being enjoyed by club members or used to its best potential.

Needs: A flexible, welcoming area to be used as a gathering place for members. The client requested to add a bar for beverage service, while making it feel open to everyone, even families. And, it needed to be a design overhaul on a limited budget.

Solution: A fresh plan that adds functionality, and blends new, modern elements with memorabilia and athletic trophies that tell the story of Rivi’s history. With creative and resourceful techniques, some elements of the existing lounge were given a cosmetic refresh, while new furniture, lighting and a centerpiece bar were integrated into the existing room, as if they had always been there. Even the fireplace facade and cabinet shelving were given new life.

Result: An updated, multi-functional design for social events, meetings, remote working or just watching TV and enjoying a beverage. The lounge now pays tribute to Rivi’s history while making way for a modern Rivi.
